NaNoWriMo - I'ma writing a novel.

Just in case any of you haven't heard of NaNoWriMo before I'll give you a short summary.

NaNoWriMo Means 'National Novel Writing Month' The whole of November is dedicated to writing and completing a novel ( or in some cases writing a fraction of a novel). The goal is 50,000 words. At the end you get a certificate and a web badge to display and I would imagine a general sense of acomplishment.

This is my first year at taking part as usually I have thought about it, then forgotten and remembered half way through November. But I have been prepared this year. So from midnight tonight my goal for the next 30 days will be to write 50k words and hopefully have something that resembles a decent read.

I would hope it will turn out well enough so that I can send it off to a publisher, but we shall see.

I have at the moment absolutley no idea what I will be writing - no plot - no character outline - zilch. I'm not sure if that will be the best way to go about doing it but I have a feeling going into this with a clear mind may be better for me, nothing clogging up my thoughts.

As I mentioned before the goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. It's seems a helluva lot to do but, I have decided to break it down to a daily limit of 2000 words, which gives me a grand total of 60,000 words. Yes, I realise I am adding on but this way it gives me two options; I can either finish the whole thing a day or two earlier -or- if I need to I can finish the novel within 60k. I hope to have written a complete book by the time december falls.

I have two web badges to display so I would like to place them here so that friends and you lovely bloggers can check back and see my progress ( if you care to)

Ok the word count widget doesn't work yet - but hopefully at midnight it will kick in.

3 hours until I have no life for a while :o

Wish me luck

P.S In all of the excitment I forgot to say, Happy Hallowe'en, hope you have all had a ghastly time :)
